Engraved Rose Gold Wedding Invitations

Evoking balmy summer nights sipping wine in a rustic chateau - this rose gold engraved invitation was made for a private client's wedding celebrations. The intricate detail on this piece was made using specialised engraving techniques that bring pinpoint clarity to a design. Client

We were commissioned by a design agency from their client - a couple wanting a special invitation for their wedding day in the magnificent Chateau de L’Etortiere. The agency reached out with a design and, needing someone to bring it to life, knew we were up to the task.

The Brief

The couple wanted Chateau de L’Etortiére memorialised forever on their wedding invitations. Specifically, they wanted it to resemble a wine label design, with the same level of detail and tonal quality. This involved our experts ideating a number of ways to make this happen. 

The Process

We embodied a number of techniques to create these luxury wedding invitations. The couple imagined using rose gold foil to make their vision into a reality. However, the use of rose gold foil can fill out and thicken, especially with pressure and heat applied. So instead we suggested engraving with ink to achieve the incredibly fine details of the Chateau. Coming up with innovative solutions and problem solving is something we specialise in, and use across all our designs such as our illustrations, packaging, and brochures

To create the specific rose gold shade on these invites, we used a combination of red and gold ink that was stamped into the card using engraving. The engraving process is an intricate technique that involves skilled craftsmanship. For these wedding invitations, this was particularly important as the base of the invite was a soft cotton based card stock. The right amount of pressure had to be used to achieve the desired effect and to avoid damaging the card. 

The Result

The final product was a gorgeous set of invitations that made the clients wish come true, all in time for their special day.
